In the morning, Bryan, Doug and Gen did some last minute prep work while waiting for the truck to arrive.

What do you think of the truck? Not loud enough...I think. Heh...

About 10mins before opening, there was a line of people waiting already and few people you might know (Zach Brooks of Midtown Lunch LA, Top Chef Michael Voltaggio, Duff Goldman and his crew) showed up.

1:59pm, we did a toast. Here's to a good week in LA!

After a great start in front of Duff's Cakemix, we drove over a hill to get to Sherman Oaks for our night spot, next to Kogi BBQ truck.

Fany Gerson of La Newyorkina showed up with her delicious paletas and the godfather of food trucks himself, Roy Choi, came by as well.

Doug and Gen made cones and sundaes non-stop till 9pm when we had to close the line.

Thank you LA for a great first day.

LA people, be sure to check their schedule and of course their Twitter for any changes.

The Big Gay Ice Cream has landed in LA. We're off to a good start. Yesterday (Monday) we had a tour of the truck that they will be using. There was enough room for three people, a microwave and a to-do list which the last item was "Go Make Money $$$$". Fuck yeah!

Next up we were off to the truck depot to pick up supplies. Cones, sundae cups, banana boats, napkins...straws...you know the usual ice cream stuff. Afterwards, we strolled through the depot to check out some crazy looking ice cream trucks. There was one with a fake cat sitting on the dashboard.

Of course you can't be in LA and not stop to get street tacos at a random taco cart.

We met up with Bryan and Jake of Humphry Slocombe at Son of a Gun, where Bryan and Jake were doing prep work.

After a quick snacking of BLT, fries, pasta and fried chicken sandwich. We headed back to Duff's Cake Mix for more prep work! And between stirring a big pot of liquid on the stove and dancing with Gen in the kitchen, Doug was shooting the new season of Big Gay in LA.

LA people, be sure to check their schedule and of course their Twitter for any changes.
