Cathy Erway of Not Eating Out In NY and most recently of Lunch At Sixpoint was nice enough to let me take photos of her while she makes lunch for the crew at Sixpoint down in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Ever since I found out that Sixpoint started their very own rooftop garden/farm I've been wanting to check it out. Cathy took me from her picking vegetables from the garden to prepping to cooking the food. I even got to try the food and it was delicious, especially the cucumber. This is part of my Capture Brooklyn photo project.

These guys and gal at The Meat Hook are some of the most awesomest people I've met. They make some of the tastiest and craziest sausages, I hear the banh mi dog is good but they seem to run out of it every time I go. Thanks for letting me invade your space that early morning! My friends Chris & Beth, the same couple that I shot the wedding for in Baltimore, are opening their beer and cheese shop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Really exciting stuff. Capture Brooklyn

The New York Photo Festival just ended accepting entries to their "Capture Brooklyn" exhibition. It's very simple. They asked you to capture what Brooklyn is to you. Yes the idea is simple but execution was hard. First I had to define what Brooklyn meant to me. Been living here for the past 4 years but there are still so many places in Brooklyn that I have yet to explore. Well definitely without people in Brooklyn there wouldn't be a Brooklyn. What makes Brooklyn stand out more from the other boroughs are the many exciting food related things happening in Brooklyn right now! I'll find out next week if any of my photos make it into the show or even...win something. But I'm going to continue this photo project, I guess it was just a natural evolution of my Process photo project.
